Our love affair with port wine and its industry began in 2013. We were captivated by the rich history, the robust and exceptional wines, and the passionate people behind them. This enchantment with the remarkable world of port wine is something we believe will never fade.
VINHODOPORTO
In 2013, I successfully launched a wine webshop in The Netherlands, www.vinhodoporto.nl. Since then, I’ve been immersed in the world of vintage ports, colheita’s, and other top-quality products from the Douro Valley.
Whenever possible, we take pleasure in opening a bottle of port, savoring it with friends or sometimes in solitary bliss on our patio.
TASTINGS
In those years between 2013 and 2016 I’ve hosted a many Portwine tastings throughout the Netherlands. Including standard portwines, aged tawny’s and with a Michelin star restaurant, called ‘t Lansink, we had put together a high-end diner/tasting that was one of the highlights of the portwine adventure.
However, we always felt the need for a comprehensive index of all the brands, producers, and quintas to help navigate the magnificent world of Douro Valley wines.
Our hope is that our index and search tool will provide you with all the information you need about your favorite port wine brand. Moreover, we aim to help you plan your trip to Porto and the Douro Valley more effectively, using our travel and wine cellar tips.
