Gran Vinho
In 1933, having just arrived from Brazil, Clemente da Silva fulfilled his lifelong dream of creating a wine house of excellence that would lead him to the globalization of his business: C. da Silva - the result of the abbreviation of his name. A year later, he registered the brand Dalva, which comes from the contraction "da Silva". With a simple and very Portuguese sound, success was easily achieved in different markets.
The current brands of port wines under the umbrella of Sogrape are:
Port Cruz

Dalva Portwine
Dalva, a distinguished name in the Port wine industry, was founded in 1862 by Clemente da Silva, a visionary entrepreneur with a passion for the Douro and its wines. Over the years, Dalva has garnered a reputation for producing a wide array of Port styles with a unique flair.
Dalva stands out for its broad range of Colheita Ports, a style that is aged in barrels for many years, and is known for its smooth, complex flavors. What sets Dalva apart from many other producers is their specialization in White Colheita Ports. These rare and intriguing wines are made from white grape varieties and aged in the same manner as Tawny Ports, producing a Port with the complexity and mellowness of an aged Tawny, but with a lighter, more delicate character.
Dalva's White Colheita Ports are appreciated for their depth and complexity, offering a captivating array of flavors from dried fruits and nuts to honey and spices. The long aging process gives them a remarkable smoothness and an exquisite, lingering finish. Dalva's commitment to quality and innovation is embodied in these exceptional wines, which offer a unique and rewarding tasting experience.
