WHY TASTE CHURCHILL’S?

Quinta da Gricha, with its distinct character, sets a high bar even amidst the extraordinary Douro terroirs. Drawing its name from the natural spring (gricha) that irrigates its north-facing vineyards, the quinta resides in a unique microclimate, situated at an elevation of 150 to 400 meters above sea level. Its location is such that it naturally experiences a wind exposure that effectively modulates humidity. Formerly the site of ancient tin mines, the soil of Gricha retains a distinctive graphite and mineral characteristic. Home to vines over 80 years old, the land yields a diverse assortment of grape varieties, giving rise to wines of remarkable structure and complexity.
